The Mazdaspeed6 Catted Downpipe leaves plenty of room for improvement. The stock pipe has crimps, sharp bends and two catalytic converters. Needless to say, there was much to improve upon. Custom Performance Engineering has completed development of its 3" downpipe system featuring mandrel bent stainless steel tubing and an optional high flow catalytic converter. Additionally, the catalytic converter features an all-metallic honeycomb design, making it one of the most durable converters on the market.

FEATURES

The downpipe is available with or without catalytic converters, for use on-road or off-road, respectively. The off-road version includes the cp-e® Tuneable¬†O2 Sensor kit¬†to eliminate the unwanted check engine light. Finally, the catalytic converter equipped downpipe features a metallic monolithic honeycomb catalyst designed for maximum flow and surface area. With the downpipe installed, one can expect more than a 20 horsepower gain at the wheels, and a marked increase in engine responsiveness.

To keep the quality high, cp-e® has used TIG welds to secure each piece of the downpipe. TIG welds are usually avoided in this industry because they require more time and skill than a MIG weld, despite the fact that TIG welds are better suited for thin metals, are better looking, and create a more durable bond.¬† We held nothing back with this product.
