The MMX Performance BMW B58 / B57 Billet Oil Filter Housing Cap replaces the factory plastic housing with one machined from solid aluminum. The OE part is a known weak point: it is prone to cracking and deformation, and repeated removal at every oil service does it no favors. Once it loses its seal the result is oil seepage down the side of the engine.

The MMX cap is crafted from a solid billet of 6061 aerospace-grade aluminum and anodized black. It is light, and it is far more durable than the part it replaces, with none of the fatigue that comes from heat-cycling a plastic housing through years of service intervals.

The important engineering detail is inside. The pressure control oil bypass is built directly into the MMX housing rather than relying on the fragile factory plastic bypass valve being transferred across. That removes the step where the OE component most often breaks on other aftermarket housings, and it keeps oil flow and pressure regulation consistent without depending on a part that was already a failure point.

It is a full OE replacement requiring no modifications, and it is supplied with a factory-specification O-ring. Fitting is straightforward and best done alongside an oil and filter change: remove the factory housing, fit the MMX unit in its place. It works with OEM filters and pairs naturally with the MMX stainless steel lifetime oil filter.
