CXRacing Is Proud to Introduce Their New FMIC (Front-Mount Intercooler Kit) For The 2nd Gen MazdaSpeed3. Designed to Replace The Restrictive Factory Top-Mount Intercooler, The New FMIC From CXRacing Offers Improved Flow, Position and Increased Surface Area to Increase Performance, Substantially Reduce Charge Temperatures and Eliminate Heat Soak.

Rather Than Mount The Intercooler Under The Hood Where It Receives Minimal Air Flow (Despite The Hood Scoop) and Is Constantly Surrounded By Engine Heat, The FMIC For The 2nd Gen MazdaSpeed3 From CXRacing Features an Optimum Front-Mount Position to Maximize Exposure to (High-Speed) Ambient Airflow. This Not Only Increases Overall Cooling at Every Boost Level, But Dramatically Reduces Heat Soak.

Extensive Dyno Testing with The Factory Top-Mount Intercooler Revealed That The Charge Temperatures Continued to Escalate with Each Successive Run. The Factory Intercooler Was Simply Not Able to Keep Pace and Suffered From Extreme Heat Soak After Only 3 Consecutive Runs-Charge Temps Increased By Over 40 Degrees! (Imagine What This Situation Would Be Like at an Open-Track Event!) By Contrast, The New FMIC From CXRacing Dramatically Reduced Inlet Charge Temperatures and Maintained That Level of Cooling Run After Run. The Difference In Charge Temperature Between The Stock Intercooler and New FMIC From CXRacing and After 3 Consecutive Runs Was an Over 60 Degrees! The Additional Cooling Improved The Power Output of The 2.3L DISI 2010 MazdaSpeed3 By As Much As 23 hp and 31 lb-ft.

If adding Mishimoto Core, may hang a few inches under bumper. Customization may be necessary. Appropriate aftermarket crash bar can be found here

Reviewe is based on quality of product

I did receive my cx racing piping after waiting for 3 weeks for it to arrive.i would have been nice to know if the product was in stock or on back order to explain the long waiting time.as far as the product it looks great quality is good.i have to wait until i actually install it to see if fitment is on point.

Cx racing kit doesn’t not keep

It doesn’t not keep with the heat it still heat soaks a little a pretty decent pull just once and it don’t seem to wanna drop cool temps back to near ambient temperature it’s just not bad of a product just not the best for what I was lookin for.

Richie, sorry to hear you aren't thrilled with the cooling ability of this kit. We do recommend the Treadstone TR8 core to be paired with this piping kit for the best cooling! Feel free to reach out to us if you need help keeping those temps down and we would be happy to help point you in the right direction for your setup!
