Steeda Explorer Adjustable Rear Sway Bar (2020-2022)

Hi everybody Brian from Steeda.com featuring our Rear Adjustable Sway Bar for the 2020 and later Ford Explorer. Since it was first released the Ford Explorer has been extremely popular and with good reason. We're certain that if you look around your neighborhood let alone your own garage there is likely an Explorer or two or three and again this is with good reason. The vehicle is a great size, it tows well, it hauls well, it fits people well, it does everything really well. For the 2020 model they made a departure from a front-wheel drive chassis to a rear-wheel drive bias chassis. Now it's available in rear-wheel drive as well as all-wheel drive but it has completely shifted the balance of the vehicle. Despite being developed from the Ford Ranger chassis with some obvious differences and a rear-wheel drive bias, the Explorer leaves some opportunities as far as handling towing ability and payload capacity or at least being able to drive comfortably with that payload. So we wanted to explore some opportunities to improve this. Steeda started right away by pushing the limits of the Explorer. Seeing how it would do towing, Seeing how it would do with payload. Seeing how it would do through the twisties in south Georgia. Now one of the things that we wanted to do was find a way to get it to tow better, handle payload better and be more fun through the twisties. What ended up happening was the development of the Rear Sway Bar. Otherwise known as an Anti-Roll Bar, a Stabilizer Bar or as Dario likes to say a Rear Stay Bar. Adding the Steeda Adjustable Rear Sway Bar is going to improve the vehicle in a number of ways. One of those is the handling characteristics. It's going to help you dial out the inherent understeer that we talked about from the factory. This means more fun and more smiles as you're going through the twisties. It's also going to help anti-sway when you're towing and it's adjustable so this means that you can adjust it if you know you're going to have a heavier payload or tongue weight versus when you're just driving on the street without anybody else with you and nothing behind you. So if you're towing your watercraft to the local lake, or your car to the local race track you have a lot more stability especially at highway speeds and this means confidence. This means more relaxed driving. More enjoyment when you've got your pride and joy behind you. This also holds true when you're hauling or have a payload going and because it's adjustable you can set it up to the balance whether it be for tongue weight and trailer weight or for whatever it is that you're hauling. Maybe it's trip to the hardware store and you're picking up a lot of stuff. What ultimately happens is the rear springs can be overburdened. The Rear Sway Bar or Anti-Roll Bar, Stabilizer Bar will help assist against that. To handle anything that you are planning to throw at your Explorer this is constructed of one-inch solid steel and utilizes billet steel ends for strength that are CNC cut for precision and then perimeter welded to the full one inch diameter of the bar for strength. This is the strongest bar on the market, bar none. All of the necessary mounting hardware is included, from the brackets to the bushings. To the bolts, washers as well as the grease for the polyurethane bushings. Installation is pretty straightforward but you have to take your time and allow a little bit of time because the exhaust does need to be lowered.
