Evo X Valve Springs and Retainers
Have you installed aftermarket cams in your 4B11t powered Mitsubishi EVO X? Are you planning to? Aftermarket cams allow you to change the power output characteristics of your vehicle but have historically been linked to undesirable side effects like idle surge. Many people blame cams for those issues, but the truth is that, typically, these issues are caused not by the cams, but by the use of higher pressure springs which are used to control the valvetrain changes resulting from the installation of the cams.
The MAPerformance Spring and Titanium Retainer kit was specifically designed to eliminate cam phaser control issues through the use of precisely selected spring rates and seat pressure. Carefully matched to the most commonly used cam profiles, our springs allow just enough pressure to control the valvetrain, but not so much as to overpower the delicate cam phaser control which will allow for normal engine function.
MAP Titanium Retainers are a very important addition to any high performance engine that will be seeing high revs and a lot of power. Using these in combination with upgraded valve springs will reduce the weight on your valve train and still increase overall strength.
